Another Hot Sunday

The only good thing about Sunday was that it was Fan Appreciation Day. It was hot. I think it was a sell out crowd. Everyone maybe thought they would win one of those 20 or so prizes. Hmmm 20 prizes, 50,000 fans. Maybe not.

I was hoping to stay in my seat at least through the 2nd inning. I’m no hero when it comes to those hot day games.

Justin was being interviewed on Sportsnet. He does look a little under the weather. He has had gastritis. No fun.

Yasmani and Clayton did their usually warmups in that hot sun.

It was a cloudless hot Sunday.

Logan Forsythe came to the fans and signed many autographs. This fan had coincidentally brought a game used jersey to have signed. What luck.

Fans had their items all lined up in hopes that they could snag an autograph.

And here comes Corey who signed for many fans.

Almost everyone who had something to sign was able to get an autograph. It was so appropriate considering it was Fan Appreciation Day.

They were warming up although it seemed warm enough.

National Anthem time.

And there goes Clayton and Yasmani.

Curtis Granderson signed for everyone. He is one of the nicest Dodgers. He doesn’t leave anyone out.

First pitch by Clayton Kershaw. He is so fun to watch.

In the first inning both teams were out in order. In the second inning, Hunter Pence singled to center field but was left on base.

In the second inning, Curtis Granderson singled to right field.

Logan hit a double to center with Curtis going to 3rd.

Yasmani hit a sacrifice fly scoring Curtis. 1-0.

Joc drew a walk and then stole 2nd base

Kershaw ground out leaving Joc on base.

In the 3rd inning, Mac Williamson singled but was left on base.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Cody doubled but was left on base.

In the top of the 4th inning, Pence and Hundley both singled but were unable to score.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, Chase singled and then Yasmani hit a homerun scoring Chase. 3-0.

In the top of the 5th inning Williamson singled but was unable to score.

In the top of the 6th inning, Hernandez doubled but was left on base with a double play ending the inning.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, Yasmani walked, Joc singled but both were left on base.

In the top of the 7th inning Pence singled Burt was left on base. The score was still 3-0. By the 3rd inning I decided to go up to the air conditioned club to cool off my camera. My electronics definitely do not like the hot sun.

In the top of the 8th inning, the Giants were finally able to score with a Williamson solo homerun 3-1.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, the Dodgers were unable to score.

The Giants had been able to produce hits but not runs.

Brandon Morrow came in to close the game.

The Giants were out in order in the 9th inning.

And the Dodgers all jumped over the railing to run on the field to celebrate the victory.

This was the Dodgers’ 99th win. When Kershaw pitches, we fans tend to expect a win and Sunday we weren’t disappointed.

There doesn’t seem to be any stress anymore since the Dodgers are assured of playing in the postseason but they are still playing well. There are only 3 more games. The next goal is home field advantage for the national league and then for the World Series. Doesn’t that have a great sound to it?? The Dodgers continue to break every record. THIS IS THE TEAM. They have to do it this year.

GO DODGERS. Thank you everyone for stopping by. You are the best.
