One of my favorite things to see at a Dodger game is Clayton Kershaw and how passionate he is about the game. Watching him in the dugout is as fun as watching the game. He lives every moment, feels every emotion. You can tell by watching the expressions on his face.
The first game of the Dodgers-Giants series over the weekend ended up in a victory for the Dodgers. Kershaw was pitching. His exciting matchup was Johnny Cueto. The final score was 3-2 with a huge homerun by Justin Turner being the deciding run. No, it wasn’t one of the roommates. I could almost see Kershaw screaming in the dugout when Justin slammed that ball breaking that tie score. It was a moral victory for Justin as well.
The Dodgers are only 3 games out of first place inching closer to the Giants. Saturday Scott Kazmir 5-3, ERA 4.46 will meet Jeff Samardzija 7-4 ERA 3.33. Kazmir has pitched well his last few games while Samardizija has only lasted 5 innings. Hopefully the Dodgers offense can keep it going.
Big news in the past couple of days was the first round draft pick of Gavin Lux, a shortstop, an 18 year old from Indian Trail Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I think it surprised everyone that the Dodgers did not pick a pitcher.
Also big news, at least for me, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself ranked at #17 in the top 50 MLB blogs for May. Thank you everyone for your support.
I miss the Dodgers. I can’t wait until they return to LA. Meanwhile….GO DODGERS!!!!
