What A Ball!

I’ll start this post with a photo of my delicious dugout food.  What you see are a tender beef brisket, wonderful pineapple ham with pineapple chutney, bratwurst, grilled veggies including my favorite grilled pineapple.  I really missed the Dodger food.

Here is the salad:  home style cole slaw, red skinned potato salad, Caesar salad, fresh fruit in season, and Chinese chicken salad.

I had stuffed, breaded ravioli with marinara sauce at my seat

I also tried the chicken strips with barbeque sauce.

All the food was mouth wateringly good.  For dessert, I had soft serve ice cream, Haagan Daz chocolate ice cream and cookies.

I sat next to the Angel dugout.

Manager Mike was within view.

It was Chipmunk night so they were there.  There’s something strange about hearing the National Anthem sung by chipmunks.

The highlight of the game was X Paul’s huge homerun.

I didn’t take too many pictures, possibly because I was busy eating.  Actually it was probably because my favorite subject Andre was sitting the game out.  Manny also had the day off.  Russell Martin was DL.

I wanted to get some Angel autographs for Mimi.  I would have been  happy with one but there were so many nice Angels.

I was able to get quite a few.

Here is the other side.

And yet another side.  I was  very pleased.  The autographs included all the catchers:  Napoli, Wilson, and Mathis.  They were especially nice.  I also was able to get Brandon Wood, Gary Patchett(a non roster invitee who was very cute), and my personal favorite: the openning day pitcher: Jered Weaver.  I told him how much I love his brother Jeff.I also got autographs from two coaches: Mickey Hatcher and Dino Evel.

So Mimi, I will email you and you can give me your address so I can send this amazing ball to you.

I was not able to get a single Dodger autograph after the game because they were rushing to catch a plane to Pittsburg.  They were all dressed in suits.  I’m so used to seeing Broxton wearing his tee shirt and shorts with flip flops.  They all looked very different all cleaned up.

The season starts on Monday and that will be when it starts counting.  I heard that Ellis, Paul and Hu were optioned to Albuquerque.  Justin Miller and JD Closser also weree reassigned to minor league camp.  Sadly, Doug Mienkiewicz was released.  Sorry Jane.

I will have to wait a week to see the Dodgers again but it has been fun the last 3 days.  The pitchers have been showing their stuff.  Sorry to see X Paul going down to minors, but good for him that he hit that huge homerun.

Some discussion on the field

My favorite pitcher, Kuroda-San.

I saw Hideki Matsui and called out “Matsui-San”.  He turned around and waved to me.  What a legend he has become.

I always have to include a picture of my Matty.  I can’t believe I have to share him with Rihanna now!

I realized today how much I missed baseball.  I looked around Dodger Stadium, my second home.  I missed my friends there.  It was good to see Linda again.  I was touched that so many of the staff welcomed me back to Dugout Club.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are as happy being with your team as I am being with my  Dodgers.

I have to include a picture of Andre for my Andre fans, especially Virginia.

Awesome pictures as usual! Can you believe regular season is just around the corner?! Oh my goodness, we waited far too long and it’s finally going to pay off. Good luck to your Dodgers this season. May the best team clinch NL West πŸ™‚

it was good to see you too! Has it really been only two months since we last saw each other? It felt like an eternity! And I agree with you. I was very touched by the welcome I received by so many of the ushers and security. Even Juan shook my hand and welcomed me back. I was surprised. He didn’t talk to me much, he mostly talked to you. I am going to try and to my best and keep up with my blog and diligently as you do.

P.S. That sandwich was AMAZING!!! By far the best food I’ve ever had at Dodger Stadium. Thank you so much!

Oh, Cat. As usual, you made me sooo hungry! Amazing food. Btw, I emailed Doug and he said he has interest from the Marlins and Rays, so keep your fingers crossed for him. I love that you saw Matsui and said hi to him. Last night I went on StubHub to check for tix to Yanks-Dodgers on that Sat in June and they were obscenely expensive. I mean, $200 for an upper upper deck seat in the last row? I know I waited too long, but jeez. Maybe the prices will come down as we get closer….

    ……………..

I am very speechless right now! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You didn’t really have to! Oh my goodness! I’m in complete shock. Out of happiness of course. I never received an autograph before let alone 4 or 5! It really is very nice of you to do that for me! I am forever grateful πŸ™‚

It’s funny because I was watching that game yesterday! I was really proud of the team and it looked like they were ready for the season. Sorry for the Dodger loss though :(. I am a fan of Dodger Stadium too. I go there sometimes too because it is only 20 minutes away. Best of luck this season and THANK YOU SO MUCH!

p.s. mmm what great food you had lol πŸ™‚

    Cat,
I’m so glad that you had such a nice time! The food looks incredible, and that’s so nice that you got so many Angels autographs. Even nice that you’re sending the ball to Mimi! Kemp will realize the error in his ways and come back to you πŸ™‚

    CAT,
It is GREAT to see your pictures again. The food looks great and of course our boys are looking good! I’m glad you got several of the Angel’s Autograph. They are my 2nd favorite team. Like to keep it local!
Our boys have been struggling out there, but hopefully tonight when the season begins, the winning streak begins aswell. LET’S GO DODGERS….we will be cheering loud from down in shaky & rainy SoCal.

That food looks great. I can’t believe y’all have good food at your stadium. Minute Maid Park (or The Juice Box as it’s affectionately called) should stick to, well…juice. πŸ˜‰

Good luck to the Dodgers (unless they’re playing the Astros) B-)
