The Hero is…..Raffy Furcal

Rafael Furcal

The pictures are courtesy of the LA Times.   Raffy Furcal was the main force behind the 7-6 win over the Washington Nationals.  Raffy was four for five and hit the huge homerun in the eighth inning to break the tie and  ultimately win the game.

Andre Ethier

Andre Ethier made a game saving throw from right field  to home plate to prevent a run from scoring which would have again tied the game.  Andre is always credited with his offense but his defense has always been excellent.

Also a big contributer to yesterday’s game was Matty Kemp who hit a 3 run homerun in the first inning bringing his total RBIs during the season to 100!!

Today they travel to Pittsburgh to play the Pirates.

The magic number is “one” to make the playoffs or “four” to win the Division.  They have six more games on the road and three at home.  I think that the guys will win the Division on the road so we will not be part of the celebration as we were last year.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by.

Cat: My teacher was so mean to me today. He said he got his postseason Yankee tickets. I asked if he could take me with him, and he was like, “Uhh….no!” It was mean. He said he just HAD to say it. Very nice of him…
Andre is a beast!!! I love him! He is always a hero. I can’t wait for that ball, Cat. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cat,
Furcal has emerged as a great leader in the center of that Dodger infield.
Great to see everyone on that team peaking at the right moment with about 10 games left in the regular season.
And you know what they say: “Defense wins championships”.
For Furcal and the Boys in Blue to get into defensive mode right now would be a great carry-over to the playoffs.
I am anxious to see what Torre and the boys can do this season.
I am picking someone out west to surprise and take the title………..could it be Big Blue?

Great job by Furcal! And to think he came thisclose to being on the Braves this past off-season. (It was the Braves, right?) Anyhow, I’m glad he’s been such a difference maker this year along with Andre and Kemp and the others. Go Dodgers!
